The Carbon Hill’s team is globally recognized for its expertise and long standing experience within the carbon trading markets. Carbon Hill’s business is built around the belief that local expertise is an essential part of having a truly global presence, allowing the company to traverse the language and cultural barriers that may otherwise exist. The team is currently made up of over 65 members spread across our regional offices. Carbon Hill has a combined skill set that enables it to offer a full vertically integrated service in the carbon asset markets: from identifying future emission projects. Carbon Hill grows through realizing those opportunities and then capitalizing on them. The team is also well placed to exploit opportunities that arise from time to time.


Our Senior Management

Michael Sanders - Chairman

Before assuming this role, Michael was a Senior Managing Director of Carbon Hill. Michael is a Senior Managing Director of Rodman Walters in Hong Kong where he has held executive responsibilities of a number of businesses and strategic initiatives. Michael is a seasoned executive with a proven track record in operating and expanding businesses and raising capital. Michael has worked in the securities industry for over 15 years and led several initiatives introducing new products and methodologies for trading and clearing.

Greg Mottola - Chief Executive Officer

Before assuming this role Greg served as Managing Director of  Brokerages at Jeev Milkha Tokyo’s environmental credit trading and consulting operations. Since 1994 he has provided emission trading consulting, market development, and trading services for states, regulators, and industries in California and in numerous countries throughout the world. He was appointed by the California Energy Commission (CEC) to serve on the California Climate Change Advisory Committee charged with the responsibility of advising the CEC with greenhouse gases.

Mr. Mottola has served on various financial services industry regulatory advisory committees. He has a B.A. in economics from Southern California University.
