These documents serve as a marketing document and the buyers/investors can decide after a cost-benefit analysis.
A design document is the primary document required for registering projects under the Clean Development Mechanism, it counts a number of critical points such as the case for demonstrating the project's additionally and contribution to the host country's sustainable development, the determination of the baseline scenario and the description of the project. While developing the PDD, our CDM consultants help the client identify, quantify and establish the various aspects of the PDD including:
- The case for Project Additionally - An essential point in proving the projects eligibility to be registered under the CDM, the concept of additionally revolves around establishing the fact that the said project would not have been implemented in the absence of it being registered and thus generating carbon credits. Our team works with the client in identifying the baseline scenario, keeping in view the local conditions and practices and then formulates the argument for presenting the project as 'additional'.
- Emissions Baseline - It refers to emissions that would occur in the absence of the proposed project activity. This is of special significance as it determines the number of credits that can be awarded to a project.
- Monitoring and Validation - Working together with the client and the operational entity, our team helps in the development of a suitable monitoring and validation methodology, keeping in view the practical and financial aspects of the process.
- Host Country Approval – Carbon Hill helps prepare the application for securing the Host Country Approval for projects proposed to be developed under the CDM. The country's Designated National Authority will examine the project's contribution to the country's sustainable development. Whereas certain countries have a relatively straightforward process for securing their approval, others have a very tedious and long drawn procedure.
